Super Bowl IV Recap

Berman: Well everyone we had an exciting Super Bowl didn't we. We thought maybe the Cinderella story of the Venice Panthers having a 19-0 season with a big win in the big game wouldn't happen but as fate would have it, it would happen as the Panthers defeated the Charrs 16-10 to win Super Bowl IV. Here's a quick recap of the game. The Charrs would get off to a good start as on 3rd and 11 from their own side of the 45, a pass to Vuk Svetozar would go the distance and he even makes a defender miss to boot. The high powered offense of the Panthers would do nothing but put up a field goal at the end of the first to make it 7-3 Charrs. They would put up another 6 points off of two field goals in the second quarter to make it 9-7 entering the 2nd half. The Charrs would fail to score another touchdown as they can muster all of one field goal in the second half to temporarily retake the lead 10-9, and with 5 minutes left in the game the Panthers would score what would ultimately be the deciding touchdown of Super Bowl IV. And here was the final drive from the game with the Charrs in possession.

Thom Brennaman: Charrs have the ball now with less than 2 minutes in the game, 42 yards to win the game. First play a hand-off to Blagojevic and he powers ahead for 13 yards now first down at the 29 of the Panthers, as they play a prevent defense not allowing for any big passes, Charrs hoping they can pick up the yards on the ground. 39 seconds left and another run gets 5 yards this time, and now at the 24 with 8 seconds left they run it again and no gain and the Panthers will hold on here to win Super Bowl IV 16-10 and an undefeated season.
