Week 6 Ep. 2

Berman: Hello all and welcome back for our second episode of the week and we have some action for you today from the Sea Devil 2.1 League. Alongside me as usual is Mike Ditka, Steve Young, and Trent Dilfer. We have a lot of action so let's get right down to it shall we. Ok Pats at Templars first quarter action and it's all Templars who strike first with a 27 yard field goal with 4 and a half to play. Pats down three with 4 to play and the screen pass not fooling anyone and Kimble picks it off and he could go all the way touchdown Templars 10-0 after 12 mins of play. Final play of the first quarter and the Templars have the ball on the Pats 38, and the Pats D is saying hold them to a field goal, but the Templars have other ideas, as with one 38 yard pass they put the final touchdown of the first quarter on the board. Second quarter action, four minutes in and the Pats get on the board with a 49 yard interception return from Uznovic, and it's 17-7 now but the Templars respond with a drive of their own and with a 19 yard run increase their lead back to 17 points again and put 13 second half points on the board to win it 37-7, improve to .500 and are in second just 2 games behind the 6 and 2 meatballs in the AC East. The game everyone was watching though was once again the NC West leading Nitro Shock at home against the Seagulls. The Seagulls come into this game looking to gain some ground and be just 2 back in the NC East but as expected the Nitro Shock would have none of it, and literally no offense from the Seagulls, as the Shock put a routing on the 'Gulls, 48-0. Here now is the interviews from both the Gulls head coach and the Shock head coach

Seagull's Head Coach: Well what else can be said, we didn't play well, it's hard to win a game when you don't score and your defense can't keep them out of the endzone. Certainly expected more from our players but you take your blows and look to the next game.

Shock Head Coach: Well winning is always nice especially at home, but we weren't expecting to win that big but we will take it any way we can get it.

Berman: Here's the scores from the rest of the SD 2.1 League

Week 6 in the RZA

Berman: Oh boy everyone week 6 in the RZA Chris Berman here alongside me Mike Ditka, Steve Young, and Trent Dilfer as we bring you all the latest news from around the RZA . Tuesday saw a lot of action around the league didn't it what with some games coming down to one big play a few fumbles here and there, might be some of those on C'mon Man tonight. But lets get into it with the two teams that are trying to pull away from everyone in the NC West the Nitro Shock and Arizona Cardinals. The Nitro Shock started their game against the Eagles a bit slow putting up just a 31 yard field goal from Joe Ryan to take a 3-0 lead with 7 minutes left in the 1st. 4 minutes into the second half, Eagles forced into a 3 and out and the Shock go down the field, 3 yard run from Houck and he puts the Shock on top 10-0. 6 minutes left in the first half, Eagles offense still struggling, Shock go down the field again, this time a little sideline pass, and another 7 points, wow, things are looking grim for the Eagles. Just when things couldn't get worse the Eagle's Wilkes fumbles it loses a yard but does recover it and the Eagles keep possession. 2 plays later Manuel Noel is in at QB, and he finds Julius Vest who says "i'm gone" to Heath Shields of the Shock and 68 yards later the score is 17-7 Shock.

Ditka: Nifty little move right there Chris just a quick little juke and he was gone.

Berman: Okay Eagles defense coach says to his line, no big runs lets get the ball back. But the Shock have other ideas, an 8 play drive all runs, and the Shock put 7 more on the board and the score is 24-7 with 1:20 left in the half. Goddard back in at QB for the Eagles and what can he do with 1:15 left. Lets listen in:

Announcer: Eagles with no timeouts left for the half, Goddard in the shotgun, snap is good, 3 step drop, pressure coming. Goddard looking around, finds a receiver the pass is offline and picked off at the 37 by Prado and he will return this to the 30...now 25...gets a block to the 20....15....10....5 and touchdown Shock.

Berman: Wow score is now 31-7 Shock and the Eagle's head coach can't believe what he sees.

Dilfer: But Chris that throw was forced in there he should have thrown it away I mean you're already down 17 you have 1:15 left, just get down the field and take your shots then.

Berman: So after 4 touchdowns, the Shock decide that's not enough and cap the first half off with a 59 yard field goal from Ryan. 34-7 at half time. And the second half wasn't much better for the Eagles, as they fail to score at all and giving up 35 more points to the visiting Shock, who improve to 6 and 1 on the season and keep first place. Now to the Arizona Cardinals who just this week, signed a new head coach to hopefully give them a boost for this second half run that they seem to be making, and at 4 and 3 entering are 2 and half games behind the Shock. They had a home game this week against the Colts who come into the game at 3 and 4. Right, to the action we go as the Cardinals take the first three and out and kick it to the struggling Colts offense who make it to the 44 of Arizona and have to kick it right back, so no offense after 4 minutes. After a fumble and two more punts by each team, the Cardinals fumble it away and its picked up by the Colts D and returned to the 23 of Arizona and 5 plays later the Colts strike first blood and put 7 on the board. Cardinals answer with a drive and put a 47 yard field goal and its 7-3 colts after the first. No offense at all just punts all through the second quarter so the first half officially ends at 7-3. The Colts offense struggles through the rest of the game as the first half touchdown is all they can muster and they eventually fall to the home Cardinals, 19-7 who improve to 5 and 3 and are now just 1 and a half games behind the Shock.
